NO FORMS - NO BOCKING.
What happens at the session?
First of all we'll get you walking and everybody is different so for some it takes 2 minutes and some it takes 2 hours. The more you keep moving on the stilts, the more your brain adjusts to the balance. Don't worry about falling as we'll be there to hold you up until you learn to walk on your own.
Once you're walking on your own we'll take you on to the gym mats where we'll have a very simple course for you to get to grips with. This will help you develop the confidence needed for bocking and the skill to start jumping.
As soon as you are comfortable jumping you are then free to develop at your own pace. You might want to learn some of the technical tricks or tackle the high jump or start learning to flip on the crash mats. This is up to you completely and we'll be there to make sure you're not pushing yourself too hard which could put you and others at risk of injury.
Every time you learn something new it builds a new level of self confidence and the more you learn, the more confident you will become.
Some of the jumps and tricks you can learn:
Spring Grabs, Star Jumps, Split Kicks, Japan Air, Vaulting, Front Flips, Baranis, Back Flips, Combo moves, Jumping up and down steps and blocks.
Of course one of the most important things to learn is how to fall over and also how to get back up on your feet again!
We'll guide you every step of the way and make sure whatever it is you are learning is safe.
This video is taken from a team training session from April 2008. In this video, everyone is trying to learn front flips but at the public sessions we'll be concentrating on every aspect right from the beginning.
