I have been bocking for about 3 years. I started on a junior pair and I then joined the welsh bockers. 2 years ago I got told I needed adult stilts since the little stilts where too small. My first pair of adult springs were raptors and I have had them for a year. I really enjoy being in the welsh bockers everyone’s very welcoming to new members. I moved on to T rex stilts and have now bought a pair of Projump Exo Pros which I love. The atmosphere when we’re doing tricks ect to the crowd is great.
My first time attempting a front flip was at Maes-Y-Coed centre, and to say the least it was the most exciting time I had on stilts! I went to the bay with Matt one day after training before I could even land it on the crash mat. We were doing the basic stuff because I’d only had a month or so on my new 7 league stilts. You know, basic stuff like jumping up and down steps and pushing to get more height. Then Locky said I should try to vault, which I did. After I vaulted Locky wanted to do a backflip so he went to do one, just before he went for it he said if he landed it I would have to do a front flip! At that time he didn’t think I was going to attempt it on concrete. Matt landed his backflip I was thinking, Oh God I’m next!
He didn’t even think I was going to do it but I had to now since I said I would. This was my first time to attempt a frontflip on the concrete, before I could even land it in the gym on the crash mat and outside on the grass! And do you know what I nearly landed it, I now can land my flips and I love it!
