Locky

I started the Welshbockers back in 2006 with Jono. We didn't know each other and had never met but we'd talked on the projump forums and as there was nobody else local with these stilts we met up one day in Caerphilly and immediately decided we needed to get a group going. Little did we realise that within a year we would be appearing on TV and being booked to appear at festivals and events all over the UK.

Bocking is a fantastic activity. It really gets your blood pumping and usually attracts adrenaline addicts. I suppose this is becuase once you reach a basic level of ability, everything else comes down to your own confidence and pretty much daring yourself to go for the next move. When you do it for the very first time it is an amazing feeling and your whole body is buzzing!

When we're doing performances I am often the person running things and acting as MC for the events aswell. This means it's down to me to create the bond with the audience first. This is usually really easy for me because there is nothing slow and boring about bocking. I like to involve all the bockers, even the new ones that might have only had their stilts a few weeks and still learning to bounce. It's great to get such a good atmosphere with the crowd and we invite members of the audience to come and participate as much as we can.
