Regular Meetings
« on: September 02, 2009, 01:06:53 »

After discussing things recently between myself, Jono and Jeeves we decided to have a regular face to face meeting for the committee members a couple of times a month.

What we would like to do is also have a regular open meeting where any of the club members can come along to discuss any issue they like. Often meeting face to face gets a whole lot done more than say a discussion on the forum for example and its much more personal an real-world when its face to face. The meetings would also be open to parents or other interested parties. The whole point of these meetings are to sort out any problems before they develop into something more serious.

So we're going to try and have these meetings once a fortnight however they do still have some concerns. For example, we dont want to keep having them at my house. Other locations will offer a nice change of scenary and give the meetings a little bit of diversity. The problem is of course finding a location that is suited to having a meeting. We would welcome any suggestions on this but please bare in mind we need it somewhere that is protected from the weather (bare in mind winter is drawing in) and a place that offers some degree of privacy for us.
It would be good to have 3 or 4 regular locations that we can have each meeting in. This would perhaps make it easier for some people to come to a meeting that is closer to them and easier to get to.

Also, in good practice and to report back to those who are not able to attend the meetings, I'm going to ask that official meeting minutes are written up at each meeting and I think this can be done by different people as its a great skill to learn.

Should anyone have any issues they would like to raise but are not able to make it to the meetings then either myself, jono or jeeves would be happy to raise the issue at the meeting for you. You just have to let us know.

So right now what we need are some suggestions of places other than my house where we can hold these meetings.

I daresay that we could occasionally have meetings at my house. My parents wouldnt be to bothered about it (so long as everyone took their bockers off before stepping on my dads percious tiled floor ¬¬) but its a little way aways from town, so that could be slightly awkward. Its still a possibility though Smiley

Getting back on topic, I've recently learned that Whitchurch Fire Station has a community room that is free for the local community to use and can hold 20 people easily. I'll be going over there one day this week so i'll see if I can get more details and pics.

Other than that, it doesnt look like there are any other options but I know a few people would like another meeting asap as there are issues that need to be discussed!

I've got quite a few things brewing that need to be sorted and I know a few others do as well so I'm gonna call a meeting at my house next Saturday night, October 10th. Exact time to be arranged depending on what time we have gym at penarth etc.

This is open to all the bockers and if you cant make it and have something to say I suggest you have someone there who can speak for you.

If people would prefer a different day than I'm fine with that but some of these issues need to be dealt with asap.
I've called it at my house because it could go on for longer than we plan.
This is your chance to have your say in how the club is run.

Of course you can stay dude.

This is actually going to be a pretty important meeting. I'm going to tackle some issues that are really going to shape the welshbockers over the next year.

To keep things in a light hearted mood, I'm even putting together a quiz for the meeting though it is actually to do with some of the issues to be discussed.

In all honesty Alice, I dont think thats going to be discussed at the meeting.
1. It wouldnt be fair for those not going to paris but are going to the meeting.
2. The opposite of 1
3. It would take way too long lol.
