Spring tape
« on: August 30, 2009, 17:21:35 »

I wanna tape up my springs, sort of a quick fix before I invest in tyre armour. I wanted to ask you guys a quick question:
Would you advise me removing the springs before I put the tape on? I've heard it can make it better, protecting the spring all the way up.

Thanks.

I've never taken my springs off to tape them, it depends mostly on what tape your using. If you use gaffer tape obviously the roll will to big to fit in the gap at the top of your spring, but if you use plenty of electric tape the roll should be small enough to fit through the hole.

Hope this helps Wink

I never took my risers of to tape them, and they had gaffer and electrical round them. It's fiddly to do the tight sections, but less effort than taking the spring off.
You could try putting a bike innertube over the spring, they work quite well and look better than tape generally.

I wanna tape the springs before I add my tyre armor to it Smiley Something to make it tougher. Cant be taking any chances XD
