Gym Session.
« on: August 26, 2009, 14:08:04 »

Hey guys, Seen as our gym sessions dont have any structure to them what so ever, from now on we are having a structure to them which will include;

1. A warmup, which will incorperate a jog at the start, stretches, dynamic stretches and various warmup methods that will alternate every week so you don't get bored of the same ones.

2. We will go on to flip practice so that some of you that aren't so confidant on the flip aspect of things will gain confidance, we will be able to help and give advice so you'll be flipping in no time  Smiley Also there will be two stations one just for flips and the other for things like round off's, cartwheels and things like that just so it adds more variety, so it keeps everyone happy and it stops people getting bored with the same old things.

3. This is where you will now be able to go on to your stilts and practice your flips like before, still if any of you need help with anything Lloyd and myself will be on hand to give you some help.

4. We will also have a cool down, to get rid of that lactic acid that builds up in your muscles so that you won't be aching as bad.

The sole purpose to this, is so that because in the past we could turn up and do whatever we liked which isn't "club nature". If you go to any club, whether it would be a football or gymnastic club there is always some sort of warmup and cool down. Comparing that to our gym sessions it is totally unprofessional. So from now on this is what will be happening, We'll still have the fun atmosphere where we all have a laugh.

One last thing, if there are any warmup activities that you've done in school and enjoyed, just post them in here and we might do them in the sessions.

Any other questions, feel free to ask here or either ask Lloyd or myself.

one thing id like to mention, i forgot to ask jon to put this in is, if you are struggling with anything or not enjoying it, please say to jono or myself, because we can help you and it will give us aspects to change. The whole purpose of this is to make training more fun, exciting and benificial to its participants, but mainly to make training more proffesional.

Warm up and cool down session was a great success on the weekend, I felt it went really smoothley been as it was a first time.

Just wanted to mention the cool down needs a little work! I know it was planned there and then as we were doing it and its our first time doing this, but I thouhght id just point it out as I think we have the warm up more or less sorted Smiley

Well done to Jono and Lloyd for making/working out (no pun intended crazy2) the warm up and well done to Jake for making up a cool down on the spot!

For thoses who did not attend, u missed blood sweat and teirs.............That was even before we put our stilts on!!!!!!!!!

Looking forward to the next session guys, bring it on!!!!!

Did I mention am walking round like an old man??? my hamstrings/glutes are killing me  Cry

As mentioned in the meeting just held, is there any chance you three ( Jake, Jono and Lloud ) can come up with a few warm up + cool down sessions and post them up? In the event of one of you three not being abel to take a session, me/Matt or whoever is taking the session can simply print off a work out and take it with them.

Fanks guys Smiley
