North Wales Bockers 11.8 Mile trip!
« on: August 15, 2009, 11:41:09 »

Thought I'd pop the cherry of the Blog section of this forum.......

Pwllheli Marina to The Lion Pub, Tudweiliog.

14th August 2009, 3 lads, 6 power bocks and 11.8 miles!

Starting at Pwllheli Marina, myself (Mark), Haydn, and Sam started out on our trek. Before we had started Sam had already fallen..... twice. His first falls on his bocks.
We headed out of Pwllheli and by the end of our first mile we were all knackered and ready for a drink. Lucky our one mile marker was a petrol station. We then bombarded the shop and drank plenty of Powerade to make sure we'd get through the mission! The lady in the shop commented "You're tall", I was like no sh1t Sherlock (not out loud). So we carried on down the long straight roads feeling like we were getting no where, probably stopping every half a mile.
Five miles later a car stopped next to us and two older ladies emerged from the vehicle. One of them was saying "I've seen these on the TV but never for real", a comment I suppose we all get at some point. She then carried on to say "would you show my friend what you can do on them." So we jumped around for a bit and they seemed amazed. I hope they weren't expecting flips or anything fancy;
1 - because we were gettin tired.
2 - because we can't!
We then carried on our way towards our first main aim, Morfa Nefyn, 7 miles. As we were tiring by now Haydn though maybe we could get picked up from Morfa Nefyn and we'd get a lift back to Tudweiliog, our final resting place. However, his dad, who was to pick us up, was unable too! Therefore that made us carry on all the way! At Morfa Nefyn we had a pit stop at the Spar where we ate plenty of sweets and filled up with fluids!
On our final 4 mile stretch between Morfa Nefyn and Tudweiliog the weather started getting windy and slightly wet. Hayden decided that he was gonna run and skip and jump and use plenty of energy! Whereas me and sam just plodded on behind him.
About a mile away from our target Haydn decided he needed a piss! So on his stilts, into a field, he had his first piss on his bocks. We then just went for the goal!
The final hill into the village was a killer. We got to the top of the hill and Haydn fell! Literally 20 yards from the Lion Pub! It was a spectacular fall, but he just sat on his arse laughing. We eventually made it to the pub where we were each greeted with pint of water!

That was one hell of a mission that I think none of us want to do again. But it was worth doing once!

Hope you enjoyed the first blog on here!

Thanks from the "North Welsh Bockers",
Mark, Hadyn and Sam.

Cool, nice mark.

You guys didnt know this but the blog is a new feature recently put up and that i have been meaning to write blogs from the festivals we've done but been too busy.

In a nutshell, when someone starts a new topic in the blog section, it automatically gets posted to the blog which is here:
http://www.welshbockers.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=blog

Any replies to any of the blog topics dont show up (like this one).
The plan is to get this blog feed into the flash front end of the website, but again i've not got around to it yet.
