The Welshbockers website is undergoing some changes over the next 48 hours.

First, we'll be launching a new look to the website. Dont worry, the forums here will still be part of the website but a lot of people who may visit the site might not be too interested in all the posts and chat that goes on so I've been busy developing a new site. The new site should be live later on today, but will be effected by the next paragraph too.

We're moving to a new server! The one we're on now is costing me way too much money and it's money nobody has right now. The new server is still in the UK so the site speed should not be effected. It does mean however that the website might be offline for bit completely. This is really down to how often your Internet Company updates its internet information. Typically, around 2 hours but can take 24-48 hours in some bad cases.

Even when the move is done, these forums are going to be offline for a few hours because I need to backup all the data (from the last 2.5 years) and then move it to the new server and import all the data back in. Again, this could take a few hours or maybe more if there are any complications. There shouldnt be a problem but you never know

Also, anybody that uses other site such as capitalbocking.com, x-bocks.co.uk, radiobock.co.uk etc etc these are likely to be offline for a few days while I sort them. One or two of them might not make a return at all, such as x-bocks.

None of this is likely to happen until after 10pm tonight (monday).

Oh yeah, those of you with a email address ending in @welshbockers.co.uk will also see some downtime.

I suggest if there are any emails you keep on the server that you download them or forward them to a different email address because I've never moved the email accounts before and there may be problems lol.

You wont lose your email address, but any emails on stored on the server might not be retrievable later....we'll see.

When the new site is live, the forums will actually be moved to a new address. This is because I want to keep the website files easily organised and manageable.

So the forums WILL be located at: http://www.welshbockers.co.uk/forum/

and it might break a few links that I'll have to sort manually later.

let me have a look at the way emails are backed up and restored first.

The websites move is looking very good indeed. Mywhitchurch is done (domain is changing now) WB is 3/4 done.

I'll look at emails now.

ok there is no simple way to back up emails on the server but I got an idea that might work rather well. I'll test it tomorrow because the old server is either being dog slow or not responding very well at all tonight.

Well if you can read this then you're at the new server.

The 2 domain names (welshbockers.co.uk and welshbockers.com) are going through some changes and depending on how oftern your internet company updates its details, it could take another few hours before all is good.

I'm still working on the new flash area though most of it is now done. I need to finish off the profiles and some of the articles.

Also, if you want to bookmark the forums, its now at a different address:
